Service Campers are youth who are age 15, unless otherwise approved by the Camp Director, and are looking for a meaningful way to grow in responsibility, leadership, and service while still enjoying the full camp experience. This program is designed for teens who are ready to take on additional responsibility while remaining active participants in camp life.
Service Campers play an important role in supporting daily camp operations and helping the camp run smoothly. Their responsibilities include assisting with kitchen cleanup after meals, sweeping and maintaining larger camp buildings, cleaning the main camp bathroom, and emptying trash throughout the campgrounds. These duties help foster a strong sense of teamwork, accountability, and service to the Camp YI community.
In addition to their service responsibilities, Service Campers fully participate in regular camp activities alongside other campers. They will have opportunities to build friendships, develop leadership skills, and enjoy the full range of Camp YI programming. Service Campers may also assist counselors with select evening programs, providing hands-on experience in teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving in a supportive and supervised environment.
Registration & Requirements
Service Campers must complete all standard camp registration requirements, including the waiver, medical form, and full registration process. Payment must be submitted before the camper is considered fully registered and approved to attend their selected camp week.
